From the Red Carpet: Photo Story at "Concussion" Movie Premiere

The famed Chinese Theater on Hollywood Blvd. rolls out the red carpet for the "Concussion" movie premiere on Nov. 10, 2015. Soon, throngs of people will be barricaded from swarming the scene.

Brain health power couple includes two-time board certified psychiatrist Dr. Daniel G. Amen and his wife, best-selling author Tana, join the VIP attending the night. Dr. Amen's work in reversing brain damage among NFL players played a big role in Chapter 8 of "Concussion-ology," called "Re-Building the Brain."

Sports anchor extraordinaire Bob Costas slips past the media en route to see "Concussion," which could be one of the most controversial films of the year. Costas has devoted study and air-time to understanding how concussions are influencing the future of football and sports.

Befuddling the media, lead actor Will Smith jolted across Hollywood Blvd to greet barricaded fans. Then, Smith strolled onto the red carpet, stopping for many photos. In the movie, Smith plays Dr. Bennet Omalu who discovered Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), a degenerative brain disease found in most deceased NFL players. CTE is believed to be the result of concussions and numerous sub-concussive hits. By reading "Concussion-ology," Dr. Kerasidis hopes to reduce the fear and dangers of CTE among parents and athletes.

Good luck getting past this gatekeeper of the vaunted "VIP" invite-only list. Unfortunately, we did not make the list, and was not able to personally meet Dr. Bennet Omalu, who slipped past the red carpet action.
